The shortest path home crosses a ringing grate. The quieter one takes you past a padded door, with Stillwick's enormous ears just around the corner. Which way would you carry a rattling case?
Stillwick's Quietways turns part of your own base into a delivery challenge. Prepare a route, pack your belongings and find out how much difference a little felt, a careful pace or a well-placed distraction can make.

Invite Stillwick to your own route. This birch workshop is a separate build made from ordinary blocks.
Give your workshop a quiet route
Start with a Wayhome Light, Resting Shelf, Rattling Crate and Listening Frame. Craft them at an ordinary crafting table; the light's recipe is shown below.

Wayhome Light: one lantern, one paper, one book, one amethyst shard, two sticks and one spruce plank.
Place the light first, then put the source shelf farther along your route. Around fourteen blocks apart makes a useful first course: the supplied version asks you to carry the case for at least twelve blocks. Keep passages at least two blocks wide and three high so Stillwick has room to walk. Leave an open patch beside the light for its arrival.
The birch workshop in our pictures is a separate build made from ordinary blocks. The mod supplies the creature, tools and route features; it does not generate that building.
Bring your own cargo home

Rattling Crate: four spruce planks, two iron nuggets, two string and one barrel.
- Use your empty Rattling Crate on the source shelf. Hold the items you want to carry and choose Add held stack. This adds the whole stack, so split it first if you only want to pack a few items.
- Choose Invite Stillwick at the Wayhome Light. Return to the shelf and Lift same case.
- Walk your route. Slow down near noisy surfaces, watch for the listening warning and step away from the place that made the sound.
- At the light, choose Bring cargo home. A completed trip returns the case and its contents and unlocks saved comparisons in the Listening Frame.
Watch a complete delivery of eight spruce logs, from lifting the original case to bringing it home. Recorded in Minecraft with game sound.
Stillwick investigates the place it heard. If you leave that place quietly, you can wait for the search to pass rather than rush straight across its path. It reacts to movement and interactions inside the game; your microphone is not involved.
In our playthrough, repeated deliveries returned all eight spruce logs with the original case. We also rested the case on another shelf, picked it up again and continued. When Stillwick caught us during a pause, the same cargo returned to the source shelf. The completed course and saved comparisons survived saving and reopening the world.
Find out what gave you away
Walk across a Resonant Grate, then try a Felt Runner. The grate makes a step more noticeable; felt softens it. Use the Listening Frame to examine a reading and see where that sound reached. Unmeasured places remain marked as unknown.

Refresh after another sound to compare a new reading.
A saved reading stays at its original location and shows how old it is, even after you move away. Choose Refresh reading after making another sound, then Record comparison to keep that new reading. Each reading can be recorded once. In our first course, we kept separate readings from the grate, ordinary floor and felt to compare the route.
Use Quietway Chalk to mark a useful spot. A Witness String gives you another sound to try, while an Echo Shutter lets you open or close an acoustic passage. Timber overhead can also creak after a warning, so pay attention above you as well as underfoot.
Pack softly, leave yourself a way back
A Linen Binding reduces the case's rattle. A Softclose Pad makes a chosen door less noticeable to Stillwick; it does not turn down Minecraft's door sound. These tools have limited uses, so apply them where they help your route.
For a deliberate distraction, place a Clockwork Clacker. It sounds for a short time, then can be recovered at the light. Repeated bait at the same spot loses its advantage.
Need a break? Rest the carried case on an empty shelf belonging to the course. To stop an unfinished trip, choose Return to source, then recover the originals at the source shelf. Leave enough room in your bag to unpack them.
Companion invitations and accepted case handovers are included. Our recorded playthrough uses one player on Windows; network play has not yet been checked for this beta.
Try a different way home
Open the editable project in Development Studio to make your own version. You can change the course boundary, hearing sensitivity, warning time, required journey and optional time limit. Start with the supplied untimed course, then give the direct path a noisy shortcut and build a quieter way around it.
Download beta 0.1.1 for Minecraft Java 26.1.2 from Files. You need Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer and Fabric API 0.155.3+26.1.2 or newer for that Minecraft version. Put the mod and compatible Fabric API in your Fabric profile's mods folder.
